Dress Code 

Every student must follow the dress code. Dress code is very important in dance class for instructors to see proper body alignment and posture to make corrections. Each style of dance has specific requirements.

If you take multiple classes back to back please check with the instructor as to what is appropriate as to avoid changing after each class. If a student comes to class consistently not following dress code they will not be able to participate in class.

  • A black leotard is required for all students. (No unitards or bike shorts).

  • Hair must be tied back away from the face in a ponytail, braid, bun, etc., and secured tightly The hair must be secured tightly with the necessary hair clips so that it does not fall out. This can be a distraction during class, disrupting the dancer’s ability to dance effectively, and it can be considered dangerous if hair accessories fall onto the floor.

  • Students may wear form fitting dance sweaters (no sweatshirts or school sweaters).  

  • Sheer dance skirts, black Jazz leggings or shorts for Jazz, Lyrical, and Tap only (must be form-fitting).

Toddler Trot:

  • Black leotard

  • Bloch® light pink ballet tights

  • Bloch® black leather ballet slippers for Boys

Preschool Ballet:

  • Black leotard

Tumble Time:

  • Black gym shorts or sweatpants for Boys. Any color tee shirt.

Kinder Dance:

Preschool Ballet & Tap:

  • Black leotard

Acro Dance:

Level 1-4 Ballet:

    *Ballet 3-4 must wear their hair in a secured bun.

Level 1-4 Jazz:

  • Black leotard

  • Bloch® tan full footed tights (convertible tights for Levels 3 and 4)

  • Capezio® carmel slip on Jazz shoes

Level 1-4 Tap:

  • Black leotard

  • Bloch® light tan full footed tights

  • Bloch® tan buckle tap shoes (levels 1-2)

  • Bloch® Adult Sync Lace up Tap Shoes in Tan

Pointe and Pre-Pointe

  • Black leotard

  • Bloch® light pink full footed tights

  • Pointe Shoes

  • Demi Pointe Shoes: Bloch Tensus Demi Pointe Shoes

    Dancers must be fitted for pointe shoes at the dance store. We will contact you to schedule a fitting.

Hip Hop:

  • Black leotard

  • White low top Nike® Air Force 1 or replica.

    • These can be found anywhere from Amazon to Walmart.

  • Students in this class may dress in sweat pants, hats, tee shirts, etc., to create their own style which in turn will better help them get into the style of hip hop.

Conditioning & Technique:

  • Black Leotard

  • Bloch® tan convertible tights

  • Capezio® Carmel slip on Jazz shoes

  • Hair in a bun
