Dance Classes

Ages 2-18 (Recital Participation)


Toddler Trot

1.5-3 years (30-minute class)

This class is a parent participation class for your little toddler. In this class, the student will learn the fundamentals of musicality and dance in a fun, creative and nurturing environment through song, dance and the use of props.


Preschool Ballet

Age 3  (45-minute class)

This class introduces the younger student to the basic elements of ballet in a fun, creative and nurturing environment. In this class, the student will also learn the fundamentals of listening and following directions in a structured class.


Preschool Ballet & Tap

Age 4  (45-minute class) Age 3 & 4 on Saturday

This class introduces the younger student to the basic elements of dance in a fun, creative and nurturing environment. This class is a combination of Ballet & Tap and is a great following to Preschool Ballet 1.


Preschool Tumble

Age 3 & 4  (45-minute class) 

This class introduces the younger student to the basic elements of dance in a fun, creative and nurturing environment. Students will begin to learn basic tumbling skills such as log rolls, forward rolls and more!


KinderDance

Age 5 (60-minute class)

Students in this class are taught to align properly in the basic positions, promoting safety and strength. This class is still designed to be creative and fun with a combination of ballet and tap. Students must be entering Kindergarten to join this class.


Kinder Acro Dance

Age 5 (60-minute class)

A class for the kindergartner beginning acrobatics. Students in this class will focus on conditioning and stretching promoting safety and strength along with basic tumbling and dance skills. Students must be entering Kindergarten to join this class.


Level 1: Ages 6 & 7

For students with little or no experience in ballet. Students will start in this level and remain there until they reach a degree of proficiency of the level.

  • Level 1 students may choose from Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap and Acro Dance..


Level 2: Ages 8 & 9

Students in this level should be able to correctly execute material learned in Level 1 focusing on speed, complexity, and proper technique. 

  • Level 2 students may choose from Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap, Acro Dance, and Contemporary/Lyrical.


Level 3: Ages 10 & 11

Classes require technical ability and strength. This class is for those who have completed quite a few years of training

  • Level 3 students may choose from Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Acro-Dance, and Contemporary/Lyrical.


Level 4: Ages 12 & up

This Level prepares students for the Advanced Level dancing focusing on more challenging material and expression through their dancing. Students in this level often take more than one style of dance to enhance their dancing. 

All styles of dance are offered for this level.


Advanced

Our highest level of dancing. Students in this level must be proficient in technique, be able to pick up challenging material quickly and execute correctly.  Students in this level often take more than one style of dance to enhance their dancing. 

All styles of dance are offered for this level.

Class Requirements

Ballet is required if you are taking one or more of the following classes for Levels 4 and up: Jazz, Lyrical and Acro Dance.

Ballet or the Technique class are required if you are taking Acro Dance in Level 4.

Levels are not only based on age but on ability, maturity, strength and dance experience. Being a particular age does not necessarily mean you will fit into that specific level.

Students usually spend 2-3 years in a level before advancing to the next.

 

Dance Classes without Recital Participation

Conditioning and Technique: Open to Levels 1 and up (Age 7 and up)

Dancers need to have strength in their core, legs, arms and back in order to execute and control their dancing as well as stamina to perform a full 3 minute dance or more. This class will condition dancers by targeting the exact muscle groups that will help them to become stronger and enhance their dancing. In addition, this class will focus on Ballet and Jazz technique that will enhance a students overall dancing. This class is great for those students that would like additional technique but do not want to commit to another recital dance class.

All Company and Dance Team members are required to participate in this conditioning class.

 

Performance Companies

D &B Performance Companies

The D&B  Performance Company is designed for dancers who have a strong passion for the art of dance and are looking to take their dancing to the next level. The focus of the company is to enhance the dancers' technique, flexibility, versatility, endurance, and performance in the classroom and outside. The company performs at local community events with the opportunity to travel to out-of town locations. The company also competes at 2-3 competitions per season.

The company is by invitation or audition only and a dancer must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours of dancing per week and one of those classes must be Ballet.

Company: Audition only-Open for Level 3 and Advanced

Mini Company: Invitation only. Ages 6-9

Dance Team

The D&B Dance Team is designed for dancers who love to perform but do not want the commitment of being on a competitive team. The D&B Dance Team performs at all of the performances alongside the Performance Company. The Dance Team also competes at 1 to 2 competitions per season.

Dance Team members meet once a week for a 60 minute rehearsal and are required to take Ballet, Jazz and Conditioning & Technique.

Dance Team participation is by invitation only.
